Jonathan "Jonny" Moseley, known around the world as the man who tackled the "360° Mute Grab," showed up big in the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games by finishing in fourth place. In 2000, he became the U.S. Open champion in slopestyle.

Jonny  first hit the snow in 1978, when he was 3 years old. By 1980, Jonny was racing his brothers and winning. It didn’t take long for him to realize skiing was what he wanted to do.

In 1982, Jonny gave up the kid games and joined the Squaw Valley Freestyle Ski Team. He would spend over 100 days a year on the snow, training with coaches. To be at the top of the sport, Jonny took on gymnastics, ballet and indoor carpet skiing. Through it all he still managed to keep up with his homework. By age 15, Jonny officially started his amateur career when he won first place in the Junior National Freestyle skiing competition. His first sponsor was Rossignol.

Jonny  went on to graduate high school and enrolled in the University of California, Davis. Right away, he hired a physical trainer and started training for the 1998 Olympics. He won the Olympic gold medal in Nagano, Japan, with his signature 360° Mute Grab. With his gold in hand, Jonny’s career took off like a rocket. He made several appearances on the David Letterman Show (1998), in McDonald's ads (1998), on the cover of  Men’s Journal (2000), and Kellogg’s Raisin Bran and Honey Crunch Corn Flakes boxes (2001).

In 2000, Jonny started training vigorously again in hopes of competing in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games. He went on to win the World Cup in France to secure a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. While wowing the crowd with his signature "Dinner Roll" move, Jonny came up short of a gold medal, finishing fourth.

Nevertheless, 2002-2003 was a big year for Jonny. Right after the Salt Lake City Games he went on to host NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Jonny, 26, was selected as one of People magazine’s "Fifty Most Eligible Bachelors." He finished the year off big, by going back to school at the University of California, Berkeley.

Aside from skiing, Jonny is also an avid sailor, surfer and golfer.
