Elie Cossa is the Administrative Manager and Staff Trainer for Fit Physique and its gym, City Fitness in Cleveland Park, Washington, DC. Elie is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, ACSM Certified Health and Fitness Instructor, AFAA Primary Aerobics and Step Instructor and is a member of IDEA and ECA. Her college education was in music, theater and education. Elie has 12 years teaching and training experience and has worked with breast cancer survivors, post-rehabilitation clients, seniors, other special populations and with the general population looking to meet fitness goals. In January 2001, Elie joined the Health & Fitness Department of American University as an Adjunct Professor.
Elie has developed and provides many education and continuing education programs for fitness instructors and trainers both at Fit Physique and around the DC Metro area. She is a lead trainer for Fit Physique’s Core Fitness Professional (CFP), Quality Instructor Training (QIT+) and Quality Personal Training (QPT+) programs. Elie also co-taught Project F.I.T., an Instructor Training Program developed in conjunction with the International Women’s Democracy Center for women who are residents of public or assisted housing. She is the co-captain and choreographer for Fit Physique’s Step-n-Funk Performance Team and has also developed the same for Project F.I.T. The Step-n-Funk Team has performed at such events as the DC Aerobics Conventions, health fairs and community events throughout the metropolitan D.C. area.
