Jennifer has been teaching dance and fitness classes in the Los Angeles area for over five years at prestigious clubs such as Sports Club L.A., CRUNCH, and Equinox. Teaching was a natural progression after years of ballet and jazz training, cheerleading and competitive tennis. Althoughnaturally athletic, Jennifer's true passion was dance. She never knew how much she loved dance until moving to Los Angeles in 1998, home to many of the best dance and fitness studios around. Jennifer immediately took advantage of what L.A. had to offer. She took classes from a wide array of disciplines, including yoga, Pilates, jazz, hip-hop, sculpting, spinning, and Tae-Bo.
Being a dancer, she was very aware of the one element that was universal to proper technique in all styles of fitness and dance: a strong center. Regardless of the class, Jennifer always emphasizes how strengthening your core can help you maximize your results. Whether it’s yoga, dance, or Tae-Bo, proper technique translates into safety and efficiency in any and all disciplines.
In fall 2004, Jennifer’s first dance workout for CRUNCH gyms, "Fat Burning Dance Party," hit shelves and quickly became a No. 1-selling fitness video and a favorite among viewers and industry critics alike. Jennifer recently completed her second instructional dance fitness video called "Dance It Off!" (available December 2005 at www.preventionvideos.com).
Jennifer has also worked on fitness videos and infomercials with other well-known industry leaders such as Denise Austin, Kendell Hogan, and Gunnar Peterson. She has performed with and choreographed for pop stars such as Pink, Blu Cantrell, Luther Vandross, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh and Biz Markie. In addition, Jennifer continues her work as a host and fitness and lifestyle model with respected companies such as Adidas and Under Armour.
All of her students, whether in a ballet sculpt, treadmill, hip-hop or jazz class, reap the benefits, both physical and mental, of Jennifer’s energy and knowledge. She continues to educate herself in the newest disciplines and techniques that make her classes anything but boring and always a challenge.
