Q: What words of advice on dieting do you have for women who are now in your shoes?
A: Don't ever approach a long-term weight loss goal with deprivation or the thought that it's only a diet. Look at your food logically. It makes sense that if you eat less you will lose. It's not easy but it's doable. Eat small meals, drink lots of water, and eat frequently. The more little meals you eat during the day the less you will feel the need to binge on a huge meal. Just remember to take it slow. It's an uphill battle, but it's worth it if you really want it!
Q: What words of advice on exercise do you have for women who are now in your shoes?
A: Exercise ... it sucks and it's so hard, but it's the best feeling and high in the world. Use exercise as your stress releaser. Put on some music or even the TV and just stop thinking for 30 to 40 minutes and all of a sudden your world has gotten a little bit better and lighter. Don't think about how hard it is to exrecise, just do it ... don't think about it. Once you begin to think about it there are things that will pop into your head that help you to somehow rationalize not exercising. Remember your goal and how you want to feel in the end and put everything else out of your head. You cannot lose that way. You will always win when you remember why you're doing it!
