How They Met
Frank and I met through mutual friends while we were both at a party in Hoboken, N.J., in November 2000. He called me a few days after we met, and we began dating. We were inseparable from then on.
The Proposal
Frank proposed in August 2002 while we were on a cruise in the Caribbean. It was our first night on the cruise and Frank said he wanted to take me to see the sunset from the deck of the ship. So, we got ready and rushed out onto the deck. He kept saying, "You look really beautiful tonight." He said it three or four times and I just kept saying, "Thank you," thinking he was being very sweet, but wondering why he was saying it so much. Then, as we leaned on the rail and watched the sunset, he said again, "You are so beautiful today, but you know what would make you look even more beautiful?" Then he knelt down and said, "This" (pointing to a box). He then opened the box and said, "Will you marry me?" I didn't believe him at first — I thought he was joking.

Frank gave Elpida an emerald-cut diamond ring.
The Date
Frank and Elpida were married May 9, 2003.
About the Dress
My dress is a Mariana Hardwick, and it's the "Cartier" style. It is a beaded silk chiffon strapless gown with a narrow A-line with gathers.
