Q: What words of advice on dieting do you have for women who are now in your shoes?
A: Well the No. 1 tip that my trainer gave me, and that I still remember till this day, is that losing weight is 70 percent diet and 30 percent exercise, but you need to do both in order to be successful. I used to work out all the time but still eat junk food, and it got me nowhere. It was when I started to control my diet that I began seeing the real results.
Q: What words of advice on exercise do you have for women who are now in your shoes?
A: I remember watching an episode on Oprah about some topic that I can't remember offhand, but there was this lady who had nine children and was pregnant with her 10th, but still found a way to exercise every day. So every time I feel a little lazy about going to the gym, I think about her, because if a pregnant woman with nine children can find the time and energy to work out every day, I should have no excuses.
