Meet the Brides
Following Up With the Buff Brides

Find out how Manisha has been doing since the taping of her Buff Brides episode ended ...

Q: If you didn't reach your weight loss goal before the wedding, have you since reached it?
A: I lost an extra two pounds after my last weigh-in, so my lowest weight was 116 pounds. But I never reached the 20-pound goal. However, I don't think I need to. I am perfectly satisfied with losing 16.5 pounds, and more importantly than just looking great, I feel great, both physically and emotionally.

Q: Did you gain any weight on your honeymoon?
A: Yes, I did gain about two or three pounds after returning from my honeymoon, but I've already lost it. For the most part, I did watch my diet while I was in Hawaii, however, there were times when I indulged. Also, I did try to go to the gym, but I only ended up going once throughout the whole trip. I guess once is better than none.

Q: What's your favorite body part now?
A: My favorite body part after the program, I must say, is my arms. They look so toned and fit now. I can definitely notice the transformation of my triceps just by flexing in front of the mirror, which I do quite often now!

Q: What's your favorite new piece of clothing?
A: During the program, I went shopping for my honeymoon and bought a sexy red strapless dress ... very hot!! Now that I fit into it, it is my favorite article of clothing.

Q: What is your favorite food now that you've gone through the Buff Brides experience?
A: My favorite foods have not changed, I just crave them more often.

Q: Do you think you'll be able to maintain your weight and exercise routine now that the wedding has passed?
A: That is a very popular question and here is my answer: I plan to work out regularly on a continual basis. My diet will definitely be controlled but will not be as stringent as it was during the training. I have definitely made a lifestyle change and do not plan on gaining this weight back.

Q: Do you have a favorite new recipe?
A: I ate a lot of fish during the program, specifically salmon. The way I prepared it was seasoning it with red pepper, black pepper, grounded cumin and coriander, salt, garlic, hot green chili peppers and ginger. I usually grill it on a barbecue for about seven minutes on each side.

Q: How do you feel physically and emotionally now that the Buff Brides experience — and your wedding — is over?
A: Physically and emotionally, I feel great! I think right now I am the healthiest than I have ever been in my life. I am more self-confident about my body, and I certainly have expanded my wardrobe to allow for more dresses and skirts. As far as the wedding goes, even though planning for this wedding drained me both physically and emotionally, I am a little sad that everything is over. However, don't get me wrong, I am more relieved that I don't ever have to look at another wedding invitation or table seating ever again.
