Find out how Monica has been doing since the taping of her Buff Brides episode ended ...
Q: If you didn't reach your weight-loss goal before the wedding, have you since reached it?
A: This is a great question. When starting Buff Brides, I had a complete number chart. Now, I am here to tell everyone that numbers are not the BIG PICTURE. My numbers are not as impressive as my physical appearance. I wanted to lose a certain number of pounds, 20 to 25 to be exact. Overall, I lost 18 pounds. Although I didn't lose the 20 to 25 pounds, I feel absolutely great and I look completely different. My numbers are great in different ways. I always remembered that muscle weighs more than fat. I am defined all over. I feel the difference and that is what is most important to me. I lost 7 percent body fat and 7 inches overall, which is outstanding, and according the body fat index I am in beyond excellent condition. So the scale doesn't tell all. My advice to everyone is not to let the number on the scale bring you down.
Q: Did you gain any weight on your honeymoon?
A: I did not. I actually lost a pound. My husband and I worked out at the gym at our resort.
Q: What's your favorite body part now?
A: My butt.
Q: What's your favorite new piece of clothing?
A: I love all clothes.
Q: What is your favorite food now that you've gone through the Buff Brides experience?
A: Granny Smith apples.
Q: Do you think you'll be able to maintain your weight and exercise routine now that the wedding has passed?
A: Absolutely, thanks to Oscar and New York Sports Club.
Q: Do you have a favorite new recipe?
A: Nothing specific. I enjoy all-around healthier eating.
Q: How do you feel physically and emotionally now that the Buff Brides experience and your wedding is over?
A: I feel absolutely fantastic.
