Q: What was your diet and exercise regimen during your Buff Brides experience?
A: I followed the Weight Watchers points program after the first couple of weeks. I found that to be very satisfying and a good way of training myself to eat healthier. It puts your bad eating choices in bold numbers before your face and quantifies it in a way that makes it easier to resist unhealthy foods.
Q: What was your favorite part of the experience?
A: I loved going to the gym. It was a real release from the stresses of the day. I found it became something I looked forward to as the day went on. I only missed a couple of days during the whole experience when I was on call and couldn't make it from the hospital in time.
Q: What was your least favorite part of the experience?
A: My least favorite part of the experience was actually the filming. On days the crew came to the gym I felt that I didn't get a good workout because we had to redo things for the camera. Besides that, I also wasn't a big fan of the video journals. I'm just not the journaling type.
Q: Who was your biggest cheerleader?
A: My husband was my biggest cheerleader. Not only did I go on a diet, but he did as well and he prepared all the food. I would not have succeeded without his help. My trainer also pushed me, making sure I stuck to my goals.
Q: Do you think you'd have been as happy on your wedding day if you hadn't lost the weight?
A: I'm sure I would have been just as happy about the wedding, but I know myself. I'm a perfectionist, so I know I would have still had that gnawing annoyance about not looking my best and that definitely would have tainted the day.
Q: What would you have done differently in regard to the program?
A: I don't think I would have changed a thing.
Q: What would you have done differently in regard to the wedding?
A: The wedding was perfect.
