Sat Nam — Sanskrit: Sat = Truth, Nam = Name. When we say this to ourselves or others, we are honoring our highest truths.
tuning in — using sound, breath and mantra to unite body, mind and spirit so that the student is fully present for the yoga practice
walk-a-mile — An opportunity for Bill and Jeff to literally walk-a-mile in the shoes of an "awakeover" candidate to get a better understanding of their work and life. This helps them develop a yoga program tailored just for them.
yoga mini — yoga-in-a-minute (taught anytime, anywhere)
Yoga Terms:
Hatha Yoga — a physical yoga that includes postures and breathing to strengthen and cleanse the body and tone the mind
Kundalini energy — Creative life force residing around the fourth vertebrae. It is the goal of yoga to awaken this creative life force.
Kunalini Yoga and Meditation — Brought to the west in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D., it is considered the "yoga of awareness." It uses breath, postures, mental focus, meditation, sound/voice therapy, and mantra to unite the practitioner with their "higher" self.
mantra — literally means "mind-wave," a word or phrase used in repetition
mudra — hand posture
third eye — Seat of intuition located at the brow line. It is a point of concentration and focus during the practice of yoga and meditation.
