Steve Saucedo, co-owner of BodyImage, has been involved in the fitness industry for 24 years. A native of Southern California, Steve has always made fitness a part of his lifestyle. He ran track and field and practiced martial arts in high school, and became a manager of a gym at age 19. Steve began a career in law enforcement when he was 21. One of his notable assignments was to create a gym where his fellow police officers could train in defensive tactics and weaponless defense.

Steve became certified in personal training at the Cooper Institute. After nine years as a police officer, Steve's entrepreneurial side got the best of him. He resigned from the department and embarked on a full-time career as a professional fitness trainer. As his personal training business grew he decided to open his own gym. In 1999, he co-founded BodyImage. Steve currently teaches one-on-one Muay Thai kickboxing and strength training, in addition to helping run the day-to-day operations.

Steve continues his extracurricular sports activities. He became a champion amateur Muay Thai kickboxer, a corner man, referee, ring announcer, live commentator and interviewer. Steve has also appeared on soap operas and television shows.

At home, Steve cherishes his time with his family: wife Pattiy son Cade and daughter Kira. Steve's hobbies include running, mountain biking, beach rollerblading, motorcycle riding, bowling, movies and working the fights.

Q:   What's your favorite time of day to work out?
A:   I like to work out around 7 a.m. I feel my best in the morning, mentally fresh and what a better way to start-out my day?

Q:   What's your favorite workout?
A:   I'd have to say weight lifting first but I love Muay Thai and running. So I guess that would depend on the day.

Q:   What song really gets you in the mood to work out?
A:   Oh that's easy, "Feel Good Inc." by the Gorillas and "Girls Girls Girls" by Motley Crue.

Q:   What is your greatest motivation to work out?
A:   My Health (mental and physical) my wife and kids, the way working-out makes me feel.

Q:   What part of your body do you like best? Least?
A:   I like my butt the best, I do a lot of squats, lunges, and stiff leg dead lifts to keep it tight, and I also like my quads and hamstrings. I dislike my calves, no matter how I've worked them they just wont grow. I've even done 1000 pound calf raises! They have great shape and are defined but they are my genetic betrayal.
